On October 7th, this 4 year old girl experienced horrors no child should ever have to witness. Dozens of armed Hamas terrorists stormed into her neighborhood in Kibbutz Kfar Aza. Avigail Idan was outside as the terrorists approached and she ran into her neighbor’s home to seek shelter in their safe room. Gunshots echoed outside as the terrified little girl had to hide. Her mother Smadar, who was hiding in her own home was executed. Her father Idan, who worked as a photojournalist quickly realized what was going on and ran home to find his wife’s body. As he ran to his neighbors home, in a desperate hunt for his beloved 4 year old child Avigail she was nowhere to be seen. Hamas dragged her to Gaza where she was held captive for nearly 2 months. Her heartbroken father was then shot, later dying of his injuries. She was finally released on November 26th. She is now an orphan after losing both her parents. Source: Times of Israel
