11-year-old Maria Amelchakova died under the rubble of a high-rise building in Mariupol.
Angela's mother, Sofia's younger sister, who was 8 years old, and her friend Elizaveta were not around.
They hid in the basement from shelling. As a result of an airstrike, the building collapsed.
At the end of the year, Maria was about to turn 12.
She was a schoolgirl. She was fond of dancing. Relatives and friends remember her as an intelligent, kind, bright and talented girl.
"Maria and Sofia were very sunny and cheerful girls. Always active, always moving - sometimes concerts or performances, sometimes videos or bicycles. Maria was engaged in dancing, she liked it very much. She was always in the circle of friends. I helped my mother, supported my sister," said aunt Iryna Amelchakova.
Maria is survived by her father, grandmother, grandfather and other relatives.
