Nicknamed the "Russian Bird Boy," Vanya Yudin was kept isolated by his mother in a room surrounded by dozens of birds in cages. His mother didn't physically abuse him or deprive him of food; instead, she simply ignored him, leaving him without verbal interaction. The only form of communication he experienced was through interactions with birds. When he was rescued at the age of 7 in 2008, he could only communicate by mimicking chirping sounds and flapping his arms.
