I was taking a break from this platform — then I saw this. This is hateful & unrepresentative of the God of the Bible. We were all whores of one vice or another: substance abuse, sex, pride, self-righteousness (as here), etc. Hence our need for Christ’s redeeming blood! If you think you are beyond the grace of God, think again. When we repent, the Lord promises not only forgiveness of sin and eternal life, he promises restoration. That’s the scandal of the Cross! That’s what’s so amazing about God’s Grace! Among the myriad sins in Hell, there will be someone in Heaven who has committed that same sin, save one: Self-righteousness. Why? A self-righteous man will never ask for forgiveness because he’s sure he doesn’t need it, and he’ll never grant it because he’s sure he’s better than you. I fear for someone who says the sort of things @LauraLoomer said in this tweet. Indeed, I shudder. May the Lord have mercy. @larrytaunton
