Halal food is a religious apartheid economic regime and it helps fund terrorism. This fraud needs to be defeated. Creeping Food Jihad in Germany The halal industry has now gained a secure foothold in Germany. In the long run, the Islamization of the food industry means that pork will eventually become a black-market commodity. According to the Consumer Advice Center, the term is not protected under food law in the EU. There are therefore no uniform standards for halal products that are checked during certification. As a result, there are numerous different halal seals on the market from traditional or manufacturer-oriented certifiers. “It is rarely clear to consumers how these differ or what specific criteria they are based on, as each seal sets its own guidelines,” the consumer advocates point out. (Still) small market — and high growth rates Halal is not just a guideline for the everyday life of Muslims. It is also a business that can make good profits. Because more and more German companies are getting a piece of the halal cake — which of course corresponds to Allah’s rules — the Federal Republic is, according to an analysis by the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, one of the world’s largest producers of food that meets the strict Islamic standards. Although the market is currently still manageable, the high growth rates show where the journey is headed. The number of new introductions of meat, fish, and egg products with halal claims grew by an average of 21% annually between 2018 and 2022, according to a study by the Federal Association of the Food Industry. According to Statista, the global market volume is forecast to increase to almost $1.67 trillion by 2025. In Germany, spending on halal food in 2021 amounted to almost €260 billion. The halal business largely takes place behind the scenes. It is fitting that inquiries from Die Welt to certifiers who inspect companies and award seals have so far remained unanswered. In the long term, make society receptive to Islamist norms However, it is precisely these who decide who eats in conformity with Islam and who does not. The fundamentalists are pushing for ever greater purity — and want to isolate Muslims from the majority society to exercise power over them, the Springer-Blatt quotes Islamic banking expert Rebecca Schönenbach as saying. German companies are also increasingly being targeted by religious watchdogs. The gummy bear giant Haribo, for example, is being certified by the European Halal Certification Institute to be able to sell its fruit gums to Muslims. The Cologne Institute belongs to the Islamic Community Milli Görüs, which works with the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood. With 33,000 members, it is one of the largest Islamic organizations in this country — and is committed to making society receptive to Islamist norms in the long term. The power of “Milli Görüs” should not be underestimated: the movement maintains more than 500 mosque communities in Europe, 304 of which are in the Federal Republic alone.
