These are dark days indeed. These are also incredibly exciting times to be a Christian. Look around you, beloved. Survey the battlefield… Everywhere we look, there is rampant and utter depravity. From the abortion mill to the pride parade, to the sorority house and the gender clinic, we live in a target-rich environment. Our enemies are not in the shadows. They are in the open, parading their wickedness like Sodom. We need to be hitting these giants in the middle of their foreheads with smooth gospel stones, not cowering in fear as they mock the living God. The enemies of all that is good, true, and beautiful are doubling down on their perverseness. With every passing month and year we delve into a new level of darkness. We therefore have the incredible opportunity to rapidly swell the ranks of our Captain… With professing Christians who have long been asleep to the encroaching threat, but are now realizing we are in a heated spiritual war and therefore called to be soldiers of Christ. With disaffected young men who have an instinct to vanquish the works of darkness, but need wisdom beyond Andrew Tate and Joe Rogan to show them how to channel their masculine energies against that darkness. With cultural conservatives who are realizing Fox News headlines and talking points from think tanks are dull weapons for slaying dragons. With detransitioners and others who were devoured and spit back out by the demons. No battle has ever been won by merely complaining about the swords, shields, and siegeworks that the other side has constructed. We must therefore build our own implements of warfare, and mend those which are in disrepair. What does this look like? How can we as Christians fight to win, taking ground for our King even in the midst of deep darkness? By individually repenting of our most cherished sins and turning to Jesus in faith. By getting married and having babies. By leading our households in family worship. By becoming members of and pouring ourselves into the lives of vibrant local churches. By cultivating rich Christian communities full of singing, fellowship, and laughter. By pulling children from the government schools, then building homeschool co-ops and classical schools with like-minded Christian families. By launching profitable businesses. By preaching the gospel in the public square. By lobbying the legislatures, and running righteous and wise candidates for office. This present world is passing away. Eternity approaches. Every single day matters. Do not be apathetic. Your life will be a complete waste if your Christianity remains merely cerebral instead of practical. Pick up the sword and the trowel, to defend and to build. Put your hands to the plow, to sow mundane seeds that will yield a peaceful crop of righteousness. Fall on your knees and beseech your King to fill you with his Spirit for the tremendous work at hand! Today is a new day to take ground for the Kingdom and deal blows to the gates of Hell. Fast and pray. Endure to the end. Redeem the time. Labor and fight with joy, faith, hope, and love.
