In 1994, Ukraine held a giant nuclear arsenal until it signed the Budapest Memorandum and delivered about 1600 remaining nuclear weapons from the former Soviet Union to Russia, in exchange for a peace treaty and guarantee never to be invaded or threatened. Today Russia is invading Ukraine demonstrating the result of handing over its ability to defend to someone by counting on its own will. Disarmament will always be a strategy offered to dominate you. Never count on the kindness of others, always be prepared to defend yourself and defend your family.
