Citheronia regalis, 😮commonly referred to as the regal or royal walnut moth, is a prominent species indigenous to North America. Sporting a wingspan between 3.75 and 6.1 inches, it holds the title of the largest moth by mass north of Mexico. Its larvae, intriguingly named the hickory horned devils, are not only the biggest caterpillars in North America but are also visually striking.
