"Touching Strangers" Richard Renaldi Since 2007, American Richard Renaldi has been working on a series of photographs in which he approaches strangers and asks them to physically interact while posing together for a portrait. He pairs them up and asks them to pose together in an intimate way, as if they were close friends or lovers. Renaldi creates spontaneous and fleeting relationships between strangers for the frame, often pushing his characters beyond their comfort level. These relationships may only last for the moment the shutter comes down, but the resulting photographs are touching and provocative and raise profound questions about the possibilities of positive human connection in a diverse society.
