Radio Record 106.5fm December 21 at 10:34 PM · 🟣🚨#URGENTE 🚨 #Ecuador 🇪🇨 - "This Thursday, December 21, 2023 with 123 votes in favor, the Plenary of the Assembly of Ecuador, approved Article 1 of the Project Partial Reform to Article 158 of the Constitution, the same which allows the Armed Forces of the country to support the Police in the fight crimes such as n4rcotrafficking, 4rm4s and people trafficking and asset laundering.Now, the initiative will have to go to a referendum (voting) in which citizens will say whether it stands firm or rejected.According to Article 442 of the Constitution, the next step after approval in Plenary is to call for a referendum within the next forty-five days.The execution of this process will be carried out by the National Electoral Council (CNE). “For referendum approval, at least half plus one of the valid votes cast,” the same article states. The Armed Forces will be linked to that work after the Executive issues a Decree. The support may be for 180 days with the option of a renewal of up to 30 more days, in case the causes that motivated the Decree persist." -
