Funny Common Core story from my daughter: My grandson was having trouble with his common core math. He just didn't understand it, soooooo my son-in-law, the 'graduated with honors' IT guy who minored in math, came home and tried to help. He was stymied, so he asked for my grandson's text book. Both Shan and Connor said there wasn't one. Tim thought that was nuts and wrote to the math teacher asking if Connor could please bring his math text book home. The teacher also told Tim there not only wasn't a text book for the kids, there ALSO wasn't a teaching book for the teachers. Evidently they're winging it.
