🌋 -“23 years ago ☝🏼On October 7, 1999 at 07:06 in the morning, an explosion of steam, gas and ash was recorded from the GuaguaPichincha volcano that generated an eruption column of more than 12 km high, which could be observed from the entire city of Quito and the surroundings of the volcano. The emission cloud headed northwest and east, causing a slight ash fall in the cities of Quito, Nono and Mindo. This so-called volcanic "mushroom" caused a lot of amazement to the people who we had the privilege of witnessing the force of nature.”
