Slow Warm Up
This morning was -11°F and our high was 7°F, as it is already dropping. That is a big difference from last week, but still a very slow warming from bitter cold to cold.
But it does make quite an impact on indoor warmth. It does not take nearly as long to warm up now, compared to then. But since the house got so cold, it takes a while for all those far corners to warm up.
With the warmer temps the wood stove is having an easier time warming the place. As it is a wood cookstove, it doesn't have the heat output of a woodstove made to heat a home, but it still does a good job.
The garage door we basically use as shutters, was finally able to be pulled up yesterday, allowing us to look out our beautiful, large window again. Light poured back into our home. It was just too cold to pull the garage door up the past week, even if to meant it stayed darker inside.
Indoor warmth is impacted quite a bit once it stays above zero for more hours of the day.
But it still seems a slow warm up back to non-frigid temps, according to the forecast. But that is only their guess. February can be even more unpredictable than January when it comes to weather.
I take heart that no matter what the weather does, or doesn't do, that Jesus will be here with us in it and through it.
If we do get into the 20's by the emd of the week, that should feel utterly amazing!
Stay strong! Let any changes for the better be an encouragement to you, even if they are small ones.
