Memorial
A Pastor of a church we went to quite a few years ago passed away the middle of December. Today was his Memorial. My daughter and I went. It was a cold day, but the sun shown bright.
He lived a long and fruitful life. He preached the message of salvation in all of his sermons, so no one would leave without knowing that Jesus is the only way to be saved. He had a passion to plant good seed in the heart of those hearing his sermon or just talking to him.
He is with Jesus, so that is always makes a Memorial one of peace in their passing. It isn't the end, but a continuation of eternal life they received in salvation.
He lost his wife six months ago, and of course, had beem missing her terribly. Even knowing a loved one is with Jesus does not stop us from missing them.
We saw many people there that we had not seen for quite a while. There really wasn't time to catch up, but it was good to connect again with those we saw. I am sure there were many more we knew but didn't cross paths with.
Time moves on in all of our lives and so many changes happen during that time. But for a little while we stepped back to remember what it had been like and the people who were a part of those memories.
Stay strong! Sharing time to remember another's impact in this life often awakens your memories as well.
