We Speak the Truth. God Convicts.
What we as Christians need to do is speak the truth. God is the only One Who opens the eyes to it, convicting the heart.
No amount of discussion or arguing will do it. But without someone to share the truth, it would be harder to find it.
Though Jesus can appear on the road, like Damascus with Saul, or in people's dreams, that is not His typical way of reaching people with His message. And even when He does, He usually sends them to someone who can explain the gospel to them.
We need to be prepared so Jesus can use us.
Knowing the Bible so we can give the proper answer to questions we may be asked is important.
Being able to tell the impact Jesus made in our life is important.
The more we study and learn the Bible, the more we can be used by God.
But that mysterious stirring that Jesus does in the heart is something only He can do. We cannot open the eyes of the lost so they can see and understand.
Each person has a part in the opening of their eyes, by seeking out the truth. It is a free will choice that only they can make.
For anyone's eyes to be open to Jesus and salvation, they must desire to know the truth and not be content to settle for a lie.
And for our eyes to be opened, we must not turn away from the truth, even if it is hard to hear.
God gives us all kinds of knowledge along the way, to help us in our quest. But if we do not desire to seek the truth, we will not find it.
Stay strong! Seek and you will find, but seek with your whole heart!
