Jesus is Risen!
I am thankful to be able to celebrate my risen Lord! In our Bible Studies we have been going through the stages leading up to the death and burial of Jesus. It was a time of contemplation and reflection. It was really good to focus on the joy of His resurrection today!
This morning the girls and I watched the Easter service online because we needed to stay home. We are still dealing with baby animals that need tending, and we wanted to be together for Easter, otherwise we cann take turns going places.
My son went to the physical church service and on the way home he picked up hot cross buns. We had them and coffee for a relaxing afternoon snack. And we got our Easter baskets.
It had been colder for days, wet, rainy and snowy. But today it was sunny and it got up to 43°F. That was nice.
Deciding where to do our traditional Easter snowball fight was a bit of a challenge. As the weather had been so wet, the ground was pretty mushy. We did not have a lot of flat and firm ground to choose from, so we choose an area by the house under a bunch of tall trees. They have acted as a kind of canopy all winter, keeping most of the snow from settling there.
The snow was rather hard to make into snowballs, rain, snow and icy mix, but we managed to make enough to have a fun time.
Memories add up on top of other memories and I remember other Easter celebrations, each one unique, but each with a touch of tradition, binding them together.
