Recount God's Faithfulness
It is a good thing to take time to remember and dwell on the past help from God, rather than what is going on that would cause us distress.
In hard times and uncertain times, it is always good to recount God's faithful to us over the years.
In those times it is easy to forget the help that God not only gives us, but gave us, in the past.
At that time it is especially important to look back on how God turned things around in other hard times.
Many of those times not only looked bad, but were bad, and yet God made good come from them.
The bad was truly bad, there was no changing that, but despite that God did something that used it, instead of letting that pain be wasted.
God has prevented so much pain and hard times in our lives, way more than is ever allowed in. But when that pain is allowed in, God will not leave us alone in it, but will be there in the midst of it.
We need to remember that when hard times come, for they will come. We need to recount and remember and even add them to our prayers, as David did in the Psalms.
"Blessed be the Lord, for He has shown me His marvelous kindness in a strong city! For I said in my haste, 'I am cut off from before Your eyes'; nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplications when I cried out to You. Oh, love the Lord, all you His saints! For the Lord preserves the faithful, and fully repays the proud person. Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord."
Psalms 31:21-24
