View MoreOne thing we have hopefully learned from 2020 is that the things we have always taken for granted, can end up being taken away. The little things that sometimes we even considered an hinderance have suddenly gained new importance. Things that used to be expected are now many times things that are hoped for.
Things that have taken place this year we would have said "could never happen in America". Well they did and they are, but maybe that will bring our focus back to those things that are so important that didn't seem so much to be before 2020.
So may we use this year as a learning tool as we move forward. To appreciate the "little" things again and to take time for the things that really are important that can never be replaced.
Love you all. Have a blessed day. In Jesus name. Amen.

I have seen peoples whole countenance and attitude change just because of a hug. This is something else that has been "taken away" in this crazy year that we are living in. These "lock-downs" with lack of human contact have contributed to the increase in depression and suicide across the nation this year.
A hug tells someone "I value you". In today's world where it is everybody for himself and people are all about "self-mportance" a hug validates a person and lets them know that they are important to you.
So today I am sending out a "virtual hug" (if you want/need a real one, come to church on Sunday morning). Letting you know that you have value, you are important, you are recognized, you are special.
Love you all. Have a blessed day. In Jesus name.

View MoreThis year has been different to say the least and there have been many, many distractions. We have had to adjust to new ways of functioning and alter some of our old routines (which has not totally been a bad thing in some cases). As we talk about what 2020 has brought us, we tend to focus on the negative things. Our human nature draws us to the things we have lost or have never had to start with.
But if we really look at things we can find so many things we are blessed with. Things that have become even more important in this past year. As times have gotten more difficult, we have had the opportunity to re-prioritize our lives.
It is time to turn from complaining about 2020 and to be thankful for the many blessings in our lives. Family, friends, the clothes on our backs and the roof over our heads. Things could be better, but they could also be worse. When we start the day giving thanks for what we have, the things we don't have don't seem to hold such high importance.
Love you all. Have a blessed day. In Jesus name. Amen.

God never called us to agree on everything, as a matter of fact He created us where no two are alike. He wanted variety which is why we are all created in His image, yet different.
He tells us in His word to "pray for our enemies" yet I see self-proclaimed Christians speaking out some of the ugliest stuff going around. I hear Christians "decreeing and declaring" nasty and horrible things over those who disagree with their particular stance on anything. UGH.
This is exactly why Ghandi said "I love your Christ but not your Christians because they are nothing like your Christ." Wow, what a powerful statement that was. Even as a human, not even necessarily a Christian, we should have human decency, but as a proclaimed follower of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, it should go without even saying.
I will say it again...How we treat people is a total reflection of our heart.

And the person that always talks about being broke is always broke? Then there is that person who always talks about the blessings in their lives. Sometimes it is enough to almost drive you crazy. They are always so happy, upbeat and seem to always be being blessed. Well, they are!
What we focus on and dwell on is what multiplies and reproduces in our lives. So do we spend more time dwelling on our problems or our blessings? Do we confess calamity over ourselves or prosperity?
Some people find their identity in their illness, or in their poverty, or in their struggles. I would rather be one of those crazy people that tell you how blessed I am everytime I see you. And it begins with giving thanks to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as we begin each day.
And now I speak blessings, prosperity, healing and peace over you and your household. Receive it, talk about it, live it. In Jesus name. Amen.

View MoreIf we wait until we get to that certain position, or until we have that certain amount of money, or achieve a certain level of stability, then we will never do or accomplish anything. We have a tendency to put things of until we have "arrived" at certain milestones.
Then what tends to happen is we set unreasonable milestones that we may never achieve, it takes too long to reach them and we become to old or lose interest in what we desired to start with, or "life" happens and the desires we once had fall to the wayside in the midst of day to day living.
If God has placed a dream, a desire, an unction in your heart, "start where you are, use what you have and do what you can" to start working towards it. Otherwise, time and life have a way of stealing those dreams and bringing us into the world of ordinary.
Love you all. Have a blessed day. In Jesus name. Amen.

if money can buy it, that means that it is generally replaceable. Anyone with the right amount of money can own it. The things that money can not buy are not replaceable and they are reserved for the people that will appreciate them.

And never cease to be amazed to look at the vastness of God's creation out the plane window. The beauty of the mountains, rivers, lakes and forests are unreal. Or the floor of clouds that look like you can walk across them.
But on one of the flights a particular scene really caught my attention. You could see below that it was storming. The clouds we dark and the flashes of lightning would could the whole "floor" of clouds to light up. You could tell that the people below were really catching it, but where we were in the plane the sun was shining and everything was just as calm as could be.
It was an incredible reminder that the storms are only temporary and that right on the other side is the calmness and beauty of God just waiting to break through. Whatever storm we are going through the sun rose this morning and will rise again tomorrow and the next day. It may take a while for it to break through again, but it is there and will continue to be because God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Love has become a word that has been thrown around so much that the meaning has become watered down. If we truly have love then our actions will reflect that.
Trust is a valuable item. Once given, and then broken, it is very hard to regain. When someone is willing to violate your trust it truly shows how little respect they have for you. Trust is something that is earned.
If we say we are sorry, but the actions do not change, then we were only sorry about getting caught and the repercussions for our actions. True repentance means to turn the opposite direction from the actions that we are "sorry" for.
Don't let "smooth" talking people play you with their words. The proof is in their actions.
Are our actions speaking louder than our words?
Love you all. Have a blessed day. In Jesus name. Amen.
