It was the party of freedom, the party of strength, and the party of a strong military. I left the Democratic party in 1981 after four horrible years in the military with President Jimmy Carter as my Commander and Chief. He was absolutely devastating to the United States Military. So at the end of Carter's term, I became a Reagan Democrat. While I did vote for President Clinton his first term, that was the last time I have voted Democrat. I became an Independent and remain an Independent to this very day. The Republican party cannot seem to get anything done. The Democratic party has evolved into something that working class people like myself, no longer recognize. They have gone from being the American Patriotic party of my father and grand father to the party for socialism. They no longer share my interest. I am more of a populist. Reagan was a populist. He was a great President. Trump is a populist. Trump is also a great President. A populist is a President "for the common class". I just do not understand anyone who calls themselves a Democrat. The Democratic party today is a woke loving, American culture hating, Christian hating, anti-white male, socialist organization. They have tried to eliminate all of our Christian based American culture. They have torn down statues of our American heroes. Attempted to get rid of our American culture holidays of Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving. Attempted to rewrite our past. They have infiltrated our schools and colleges, and without our (the parents) permission brainwashed our children with their woke bull crap. And now, they are running as self declared socialist candidates for House and Senate seats in our congress. I am sorry, but if you are an American and you vote these crazy socialist nut cases into our congress, you are not the type American I grew up with. Americans believe in our individual rights of freedom of speech, the right to own property, equal justice, the right to bear arms, the right to worship the religion of our choice, and more. We are capitalist. We are patriots. We believe in free market enterprise. Socialism is against all of these freedoms. Under socialism, the government takes over all means of production of goods. There are no individual rights. The government decides who goes to college and who becomes a laborer. And you lose your rights to own land as well. While it may sound good, ask yourself this question: If America is so bad (as these socialist and woke people claim) why do so many people from other nations want to come here by the thousands! You do not see Americans storming the borders of socialist conuntries.
