Anyone play around with airguns? I have a couple airforce airguns, well built and very accurate, and a 72 caliber zeus from Aea airguns. Haven't shot it yet but ready.

Not since I was a kid and graduated to REAL firepower. However, it might be a good idea when stealth is a necessity, because an air gun doesn't bark like a real gun and essentially has a built-in silencer. Unfortunately, the costs are out of the ballpark.

The 300-Yard Shot That Changed American History | Revolutionary War Sharpshooters

September 19th, 1777. Timothy Murphy fired a single shot from 300 yards away. British General Simon Fraser fell from his horse, mortally wounded. This wasn't luck—this was America's most revolutionary tactical innovation: the rifle companies.
History books forgot the specialized units that terrified British commanders and won battles before they began. These weren't ordinary soldiers. They were frontier marksmen who could kill at impossible distances, turned American forests into hunting grounds, and made every British officer a target.
This is the untold story of Morgan's Riflemen—how 500 backwoods hunters with Pennsylvania long rifles defeated professional British forces and changed warfare forever. You'll discover why British officers dressed like common soldiers out of fear, how Daniel Morgan's turkey call signals coordinated forest tactics, and why one shot at Saratoga brought France into the war and secured American independence.
From the Quebec disaster to the Cowpens masterpiece, this documentary reveals the complete story of Revolutionary War sharpshooter tactics. We cover the Pennsylvania long rifle technology that gave 3x the range of British muskets, Morgan's innovative double-threat formations, the psychological warfare that broke British confidence, and how these frontier warriors established American military traditions that continue in modern special operations forces.
These were hard men from the frontier—Irish immigrants like Timothy Murphy, scarred veterans like Daniel Morgan—who brought wilderness survival skills to the Continental Army. They could track enemies for days, shoot accurately while moving through dense brush, and kill with clinical precision from distances that seemed magical to their enemies. British soldiers lived in constant fear of invisible marksmen who could reach out from the tree line and eliminate officers coordinating their forces.
Subscribe to History USA for deep dives into the forgotten battles, unsung heroes, and tactical innovations that actually won American independence.
