What is the purpose of Proverbs?
Proverbs 1:2-4 KJV
To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;
[3] To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;
[4] To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.
Proverbs 2:4-5 KJV
If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
[5] Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.
Proverbs 3:1-2 KJV
My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

He questioned the integrity of God's simple command.

In this little conversation Eve left out a few words, added a few words and changed some words untill the serpent could say...

The truth was completely twisted around to a blatent lie by playing a few word games and paraphrasing scripture.
This is good reason to know the truth.

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
In this verse the word 'private' is the translation of the greek word idios. It means "ones own" idea or interpretation. It sounds like the english word idiot. You can't just make up a meaning or you look like an idiot. You have to let the words which make up the whole word of God fit together with meaning, accuracy and integrity.
[21] For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
[17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Here are a few points.
1. No private interpretation, its Gods words.
2. It is not man's word.
3. It is "profitable" for:
-Right teaching
-Reproof when we blow.

4. Instruction in right living
5. So that we are given what we need to do good works.
