Explain the seasons. Explain tides. Explain why the planets move as they do. Explain stelar paralax. Explain why different stars and planets are seen differently from different latitudes, but not different longitudes. Explain the magnetic poles, and the rotational poles. Explain why the extreme north and extreme southern regions are cold, but not the extreme east or west. Explain the orbits of the sun and moon, what holds them up? What energy source keeps them moving? From where do storms originate, and where do they go, and what drives them? What is their energy source? What is the energy source of volcanos that remains hot enough to melt stone? Why can you see the masts of ships on the horizon first before seeing the vessel? When you're on a ship approaching land why can you see the mountain tops first before seeing the shore? Why do ships that travel away from shore disappear, shouldn't they remain visible no matter how far away they are? Why can I not see the highest point of Africa from the highest point of America. Why is it a shorter flight from Seattle to Beijing over Alaska, than it is flying over Hawaii? Explain where does the ocean water go? What contains it? What drives the currents? Your SINGLE theory has to explain ALL the observational evidence simultaneously. A spherical earth explains all these observations. Your theory must do the same in order to be considered valid. When you have explained your postulate through compelling evidence and observation, you will have a theory, and we can discuss the merits of the competing theories. Until then, you have nothing but an idea. If your idea has merit, then reason it out. Until then your idea is no more valid than a unicorn.
