Standing on the Truth
There is a battle going on, raging all around us, and we only see the very fringes of it. If we would just wake up, we would be able to fight the proper enemy, which is Satan, instead of each other.
The thing is that generations have been taught lies. The foundation of truth is not found in the world. But that is where many look for it.
Truth is not found in the educational system. Even the best places still are built on a foundation of lies, because they are not founded on Jesus.
A system meant to reach children the Bible and the responsibility that cones with citizenship, has been given over to anti-God in the worst case and apathetic about God in the not as horrible places.
The educational system is not the place to find the truth.
Some churches still preach the truth, because they preach Jesus. But many still will not find Him because they are looking for a servant in Jesus, not a Master.
The Media once honored the presence of Jesus in our world, even it it didn't do a very good job of it. At first they were not in opposition to Jesus. They could not have gotten a foothold in the society of the time if they had. They entered quietly and held their agenda in check, until they could release all boundaries, as they have now.
Where does one go to find the truth, and are those who say they are seeking the truth, really seeking it?
Let's go back to Pilate and Jesus.
Pilate said it all, and those who turn from the truth repeat the same apathy.
I left off Pilate's reply to Jesus in my Palm Sunday post because I was talking about the Kingship of Jesus. But I will add it here, because it has been the cop out for generations that followed--when they want to ignore the truth even when it is staring them in the face. And for Pilate that was literal, because "the truth" Jesus, was literally standing right in front of him. If Pilate was the kind of man who actually was looking for the truth, he would have turned to Jesus, no matter the consequences, instead of being used as a tool against Him.
"Pilate therefore said to Him, 'Are You a king then?' Jesus answered, 'You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.' Pilate said to Him, 'What is truth?' And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, 'I find no fault in Him at all.'"
John 18:37-38
Hearing the "voice of Jesus" is more than just hearing Jesus speak, or Pilate would have known that he was speaking to the truth.
The voice of Jesus resonates in the heart of a child of God, even before we are His child. Because it is the voice of Jesus that calls to us, and we respond to, when we come to salvation.
Pilate just went about his business, not really caring to find out anything more from Jesus, who had just dropped a bombshell on him, if he would have actually been listening. But Who was this King of the Jews to him? The jews in front of him didn't even want him. Why should he care? A true seeker of the truth would have cared, though.
Pilate could not have saved Jesus, even if he had wanted to, because the time had come for the Passover Lamb of God to be slain. But Pilate could have had a better part in the story if he had taken the tine to listen, when Jesus spoke.
The "what is truth?" cop out continues. My truth, your truth, their truth--are all lies, unless that truth is grounded upon Jesus Christ and His word.
We can learn all kinds of information. And much of it contains truth, but any corruption--like adding evolution or a false religion or man made values or such things, lack real truth, it is diluting.
We have to try to pick the good pieces out of the bad and not let the good get contaminated with the bad. That is a real difficult task if you don't already know what is really true and what has been added to the mix.
So, going back to the truth, without additives or fillers, and we are face to face with Jesus. And when He speaks...What will you do?
Stay strong! Get grounded in Jesus so you can stand strong!
