What a gift for all of us to enjoy and utilise. I also respect the fact that all social media started out as private companies and in my opinion have certain rights to allow or ban content and users. That's American business. We all have a right to refuse service to a customer in our own private companies and social media sites should have the same freedom. And of course content that is harmful i.e. child porn or snuff films or violence or terrorism or anything like that INCLUDING misleading and flat out lies would be irresponsible for any media outlet that is free content for the masses to include harmful and inappropriate content. That being said....these tech companies can't kid themselves into believing that at this point in 2020 that social media hasn't taken on the mass and power of a behemoth that we ALL consider our right to use. Yes we all signed the user agreement. We all input our personal info to create an account and because we all are a bunch of narcissistic egotistical children of the technological age posting our cutest pix and videos and locations and addresses and pins and favorite colors and bands and songs and hopes and dreams, etc. all in the desire to get a like or a comment we are as much a part of this machine as SuckerBerg himself. But...BUT...that does not give these companies the right to spy on us or censor us or ban us without very very very specific laws and situations. And certainly does not give them the right to store our posted content without probable cause. That's like a cop storming into your house because they want to see EVERYTHING you're up to under the guise of saying they think you have drugs. It's probable cause. And because all of us have become so political and are waking up to the lies and trickery of those who control us and we are posting it all for the world to see, these social media platforms are panicking and trying to smoke us out, censor, ban or "fact check" particular words we use. This is blatant censorship. And blatant lawlessness. SuckerBerg won't admit under oath that his site uses software to do this to us. And of course he's not the only one. But this is wrong. And we had better do something. Because the free press doesn't exist anymore. We've been shown that ALL news media is biased and has an agenda. And how we came upon these facts were by use of SOCIAL MEDIA. We shared the information we collected and let masses have the opportunity to see it for themselves. If we allow social media to be consumed by the lying behemoth that's controlled by the ones in power then that means we will have no power.
