Interesting. When scaled to a size to produce sufficient energy there are multiple issues. Bearing losses & friction. FYI - a group of us, when I worked at Emerson Electric, did. The only medium that worked efficiently was in a cryogenic liquid and the liquid acted as the lubricant. The issue was that materials properties change electrically at cryogenic temperatures so generated efficiency becomes an issue. Specia... View More
