During intense questioning at a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Sept. 20, Rep. Troy Nehls (R-Texas) grilled Attorney General Merrick Garland over President Joe Biden’s push to get Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin fired when Mr. Biden was vice president. Mr. Shokin had been investigating the Ukrainian energy company Burisma, where the president’s son, Hunter Biden, had a position on the board. Mr. Nehls told Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) to “pipe down” when the latter attempted to interrupt his question.
