View MoreMy Bible Verse of The Day - 5-24-22 Mark 4:41 (NKJV) 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!” As a follower of Christ, I am constantly in awe at God and His wonders. There are often times when I have trouble coming up with words for what I feel when I ponder on Him and who He is, especially when I consider the fact that He chose to save me and now dwells inside of me through the Holy Spirit. It is mind-blowing, to say the least. Now, let’s picture the disciples of Jesus as they began fearing for their lives while waves are coming over the sides of the boat. They were truly in a life-or-death situation as the boat they were in was at risk of sinking. And as they fretted over their situation, Jesus, the Messiah, the King of kings and Lord of lords, lay asleep in that same boat, unmoved by the commotion. As things worsened and they began to understand that they were in imminent danger of sinking, they woke Jesus in a desperate plea for His help. Jesus arose, rebuked the wind and sea. The wind ceased and there was a great calm. This seemed to scare the disciples more than the wind and waves, as they asked each other, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?”. This is Jesus, our Savior. The One who chose to take our place on the cross of Calvary and die for you and for me. This is Jesus, the son of God, who came to walk the earth in human form, that we might know Him and that he could show us the Father through Him. And this is Jesus, The Way, The Truth and The Life. This is the One we follow and cling to with faith and hope for salvation. For in Him alone is life eternal. Amen.
