The Thatcher/Reagan revolution, gave political power to the market, naturally the corporate media praised this, their owners are the ones who got the power. Companies being Too big to fail is a direct expression of this, they have the power, they can't fail, the western system has invested power into them, if they fail the entire system has a crisis. That their failure demonstrates that the system Thatcher and Reagan imposed doesn't work, is of course ignore, by those who have gained the power and fully intend to keep it. What has "the market" a rather spurious name for the corporate ownership class, done with their new powers? They increased money in politics and elections, giving themselves more control over who is and is not capable of running for office, they forced law changes that made formerly criminal behaviour legal, they privatised the regulators. People who face no consequences for negative behaviour, only get worse, what restrains them? In today's system nothing. If their too big to fail companies go bankrupt they are bailed out, if they are caught breaking the highly diminished law, they are not prosecuted, they maybe face a fine that is seen as little more then the cost of doing business. The political class has effectively been filled with people who have been vetted and sponsored by the "market" to be compliant to the "markets" will. So we effectively have in essence a mafia ruling the west with a political class that has been selected to serve it, and nothing to incentivise moral or legal behaviour. In this sense you can ultimately expect nothing but increased, deception, lawlessness, corruption & utter hypocrisy from the West today. It's simply going to get worse and worse until it's soo bad it all completely collapses. Of course the same corrupt people who built this system fully intend to use any crisis manufactured or otherwise, to increase their position. The reality that they are the problem, isn't ever going to be entertained by men of such hubris. But when it does all fall to pieces, be sure these masters of the universe, will be the crying little man babies that they actually are. Their world doesn't facilitate growing up, it simply facilities greed, fear and arrogance. As I say man is the evil if the world, has been ever since we ate the fruit of knowledge, these men of the Mafia, are nothing but slaves, slaves of greed, slaves of hubris, slaves of the ego. They have more strings on them, then Pinocchio. The future they will seek is very predictable. As is it's utter destruction. Lies, criminality and corruption are simply not a foundation for a sustainable future, they'll simply keep becoming more tyrannical to compensate for their failings as people.
