Coming up towards EASTER, again our TV SCREENS are FULL of MOVIES on the divinity and crucifixion.
This original version of the MIRACLE OF THE LADY OF FATIMA, grips me more than later versions, with its sincerity.
I am not a Roman Catholic, but I am a true believer in GOD and his influence in our LIVES, again for someone of my AGE, I have lived through too many WARS and CONFLICTS, this film gives me some hope of a FUTURE for MANKIND, a second coming, a redemption or second chance, for conflicts there are many resolutions few, obviously we as a species have not learned how to settle our differences and get along with our neighbours.
Set in a time during the Spanish Civil War, the LOSS of LIFE of those on the front line, tore families apart at home, wishing and hoping for the return of their MEN FOLK, our fathers, our children, our brothers and our family friends, we at home clung to whatever MIRACLE, however small and insignificant it may be, a name not on a casualty list would rally their spirits so, of this small community.
It is breathtaking and leaves a MARK on the three children amongst the villagers and their parent.
Believe it or not, is up to YOU, the sacrifice of MANY and the retribution of those in charge of the MILITARY and GOVERNMENT, to deter these 3 young children from what they believed they saw THAT offered some HOPE, reminds me of TODAY, the lack of appreciation for what we HAVE NOW, our STANDARDS and VALUES from the PAST, can be blown away by INSINCERE, SMOOTH-TALKING POLITICIANS and PUBLIC OFFICIALS, hell bent on DERAILING the very Democracy of what we hold dear.
It is a time of reflection, of the remembrance of BETTER DAYS and the turmoil of more recent times of conflict and adversity.
Each SOUL has a SAFETY ZONE, to crawl into AND escape life's pressures, if this is yours then do like me, look up the original version of this film, YES with some Hollywood actors that seem to bring this EVENT to it FULL MEANING, even buy the DVD and give your family a TREAT and LOOK into a simpler TIME of those LESS FORTUNATE with simpler BELIEFS!
