What we must also consider is the truths will be presented in a manner appropriate for the time and place . If the scripture is written for a society thousands of years ago , a society that existed in a world that no longer exist , we must see this and view the writings from the viewpoint of the time and place , as much as possible . Do not dismiss the teachings because the “times” have changed , but look instead to what was being brought to the society at the time and the truth behind the words . Delve deeply into the ancient culture and language, study with an open mind , then dismiss everything and let your soul speak the words to you that echo the scriptures. You will know , for the soul , the self , is immortal and seeing the truth of itself in the writings .”
