As you may know, there are a number of people who are strongly against Trump and/or what he is doing, and it's not just the left. There are significant forces on the Republican side who are against Trump to varying degrees. If you are aware of Mike Benz's line of reasoning, that should probably give you an idea of the establishment types that are against Trump.
Some of the issues Mr. Peine addresses I can't really speak to, such as, whether or not people being put into the prisons in El Salvador who have done nothing to deserve it. I do know people are being taken off our streets and taken there, but I can't tell you much more than that.
I do have a more informed opinion on the federal employees who have been fired or retired to some degree. These were targeted by DOGE, or, I believe, were targeted because they are part of "the blob," as Mike Benz calls it, or part of the deep state.
I think it's a matter of dispute if the Executive can withhold funds allocated by Congress. Considering that these two branches are fairly equal, you can argue that neither branch of government can compell the other do do anything. I would certainly entertain that notion regarding the spending of money. I would probably default to what Trump is doing, and study the matter, carefully considering both sides. But, I have considered this issue before, so it's not totally new to me, though, perhaps, not in great detail.
As for the judiciary, that one's a hot button for me. I do not believe that the Judiciary rules the country, which is how this will end if the other branches of government continue to do everything the Judiciary orders them to do. One look at what is happening in Brazil, that country is essentially being run by 1 man: Judge Moraes. I don't think that's what we want. We are supposed to have 3 branches of government, not 1. I do no t believe in the concept of judicial supremacy. The Judiciary is supposed to take a back seat to the other two branches. I believe strongly that appeals should be to the Constitution, and if the Constitution clearly says something, if the Judiciary says something else, the other two branches should ignore the judiciary.
I know that is a tricky situation, because no matter who makes the final decision, someone's not going to like it, but from a Constitutional perspective, I think that's how it needs to be. Trump should ignore the judiciary when they make clearly unconstitutional orders, like when they tell the President what to do, or try to run the Executive Branch (as in, turn the plane around, etc).
As for the Speaker's comments about closing courts, my understanding of that for a long time has been that that's true.
"Cuts to the largest national welfare systems, including our social security system, are planned and discussed to finance the extension of tax cuts for the super-rich."
A lot of what Mr. Peine says sounds like Establishment Republican stuff, but the above statement sounds like a Democrat talking point. No offense intended, but I don't think any of it is true, and it's slanted to appeal to the left. The article overall seems to be trying to find something for everyone to hate Trump, and I think it's misdirected. Mr. Peine doesn't describe the problems Trump is attempting to address with the things he is doing; he simply puts the worst spin on everything that he can.
Mr. Peine doesn't even mention what I consider to be the real issues related to Ukraine: the CIA's overthrow of their government (and lots of other governments) in 2014, the installation of Zelensky, the intrusion of NATO into Russia's domain, past where we promised them we would not go, the utter hopelessness of Ukraine defeating Russia, them being a small, weak country, the energy policies that are controlling everything behind the scenes (to cut off Russian energy, to seize the energy and minerals in Ukraine and the area, etc).
Adopting Canada? To me, that's five times worse than statehood for DC--too many liberals (sorry, again, no offense, but that's how I see it. Incorporating Canada would probably turn the country permanently
Democrat). But, I think I understand why Trump wants to do it: energy, control of the north, and increasing the economic power of the US to counter the Russia/China/Iran/etc axis. Those are the same reasons he wants Greenland, but I'm not against that one. I think there are few enough people that they won't flip us to the left. All Trump has to do is convince Greenland to join us. From a US perspective, I think it's a win; if I were a Greenlander, I'd say no. Just because I don't trust the US, and I don't like the path they (we) are taking (off the deep end).
I could say more, but I need to go to bed. Not sure if that's what you wanted.

President Trump's 25 Mar 2025 Executive Order "Preserving and Protecting the Integrity of American Elections" is the most far-reaching action ever taken by a Presidential administration to improve and safeguard U.S. election integrity and transparency. BUT, does it have the teeth we need? Is it enough or are we just too far gone for it to matter?
2/ The Executive Order directs Federal agencies to enforce existing Federal law, consistent with the President's Constitutional responsibilities under the "take care" clause. Chief State Election Officials, all of whom have been grateful for Federal government assistance in the form of election assistance grants which they unhesitatingly accepted, will no doubt now be relieved to receive Federal government assistance to help ensure that all our States are actually in compliance with Federal law, meant to protect Americans' electoral franchise and the integrity of our elections, and which to which they have already attested compliance in order to receive the billions of dollars of taxpayer-funded grants the USG has provided.
3/ Let's take a look at what exactly President Trump's Executive Order directs.
EO directive: The Election Assistance Commission (EAC) will require documentary, government-issued proof of U.S. citizenship on its voter registration forms, rather than simply "attestation."
IMPACT: will no longer allow states to pull the voter ID shenanigans that have escalated over the past few years
EO directive: USG agencies will provide states access to Federal databases to verify eligibility and citizenship of individuals registering to vote.
IMPACT: No more excuses and feet-dragging for dirty voter rolls, particularly since DOGE is cleaning USG databases, such as SSI.
EO directive: U.S. Attorney General (USAG) will prioritize prosecuting non-citizen voting and related crimes, including through use of DHS records and coordination with state attorneys general.
IMPACT: "Related crimes" is a massive "catch-all" that could include any actions taken or not taken which facilitate non-citizen voting, e.g. non-enforcement or negligence in verification of citizenship.
4/ EO directive: Federal election-related funds will be conditioned on states complying with the integrity measures set forth by Federal law, including the requirement that states use the national mail voter registration form that will now require proof of citizenship.
IMPACT: States who do not comply lose federal funding. And as we've seen, there's a-plenty at state.
EO directive: EAC's Voluntary Voting System Guidelines (VVSG) 2.0 and security standards for voting equipment will be updated to require a voter-verifiable paper ballot record (prohibits tabulation from barcodes/QR codes) AND excludes use of Direct Recording Electronic (DRE) voting systems without Voter-Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT), e.g. as currently used in Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas. By September, 2025, EAC will rescind the certifications of voting systems which do not comply with the newest revisions will be decertified by EAC.
IMPACT: Many states are now going to argue what the GA judge ruled, that their State laws don't require ongoing compliance, just initial compliance. The obvious argument will be that they never complied with any standard.
5/ EO directive: USAG will enter into information-sharing agreements with state election officials to identify cases of election fraud or other election law violations. Non-compliant states may face prioritized Federal enforcement of election integrity laws and loss of funding given their unwillingness to police fraud.
IMPACT: States that won't open their books will be investigated; State officials who have been looking the other way or actively violating Federal law will be prosecuted.
EO directive: USAG and Secretary of Homeland Security (DHS) shall prevent non-citizens from any involvement in administering elections.
IMPACT: Huge; non-citizens have been administering elections in many large States.
EO directive: USAG will fully enforce the voter-list maintenance requirements of the National Voter Registration Act and the Help America Vote Act.
IMPACT: Unprecedented. This has never been done before; as a result, U.S. voter rolls could drop by 15-20% of active registrants, so for the first time in 20 years, voter roll total active registered voters would be closer to the U.S. Census' estimates, than the +20% reflected in State EAVS reports.
6/ EO directive: USAG shall take appropriate action against states that count ballots received after Election Day in Federal elections. Federal election funding will be conditioned on compliance.
IMPACT: Election riggers should be mad about this. Makes it more difficult to inject fraudulent ballots to make up for deficits on Election Day.
EO directive: USAG will prioritize enforcement of laws prohibiting foreign nationals from contributing to or donating in U.S. elections.
IMPACT: This one's put a massive bullseye on ActBlue, and a smaller one on WinRed, because of the "smurfing" (massive numbers of small, fraudulent "donations" which are actually the disaggregation of large, illegal donations from large donors/ organizations, broken up and fraudulently attributed to small donations/many donors).
EO directive: All agencies must report on compliance with undoing Biden Executive Order 14019, which turned Federal agencies into Democratic voter turnout centers.
IMPACT: Get out the vote efforts might now actually have to go places and talk to people about registering to vote… without federal funding footing the bill.
7/ EO directive: EAC will audit HAVA expenditures and report discrepancies or issues (e.g. false certifications) with audited States' certifications to the Department of Justice (DoJ) for appropriate enforcement action.
IMPACT: State Chief Election Officials who have certified compliance with Federal law in order to receive Federal HAVA grant funds may now be prosecuted for those fraudulent certifications. That means all of them.
EO directive: USAG will enter information-sharing agreements with chief State election officials or multi-member agency of each state, to provide DoJ with detailed information on all suspected violations of State and Federal election laws discovered by State officials; to the extent any States are unwilling to enter into such information sharing agreement or refuse to cooperate in investigations and prosecutions of election crimes, USAG will prioritize enforcement of Federal election integrity laws in such States.
IMPACT: A lot of Secretaries of State are about to lawyer up.
8/ EO directive: USAG/DHS shall (regarding election infrastructure) "prevent all non-citizens from...accessing election equipment, ballots, or any other relevant materials used in the conduct of any Federal election." DHS, in coordination with EAC, will review and report on the security of all electronic systems used in the voter registration and voting process.
IMPACT: This refers to all the election equipment; there isn't a single voter registration system or voting system being used in the U.S. which was not accessed by non-citizens, because every single one of them uses computers assembled or manufactured overseas, primarily in China.

A lawyer, Tom Renz, who actually read Trump's DOGE Executive Order and, expecting some illegal power grab, found it to be airtight. Turns out Trump and Musk didn't create anything. Obama did.
Obama created United States Digital Service (USDS) in 2014. It was meant as a bureaucratic patch job to fix the Obamacare website meltdown.
Fast forward to 2025. Trump rebrands it DOGE (United States DOGE Service). Keeps the acronym, keeps the funding, but gives it a whole new mission: Find the Receipts
Legally untouchable because it was already fully funded and operational. Trump invokes 5 USC 3161, which allows him to create temporary hiring authorities. DOGE teams get embedded inside every single federal agency. Each team consists of a lawyer, HR rep, a zoomer nerd, and an investigator. They report to DOGE, not the agency they're embedded in.
But wait, there's more! Trump invokes 44 USC Chapter 35, which governs federal IT and cybersecurity oversight. Since USDS was originally an IT oversight body, DOGE now has full access to all federal data systems. Yes, that’s right. All of them.
His executive order is written to block legal challenges. Includes language that overrides conflicting executive orders. Orders every agency to comply. Refusal means they violate presidential authority.
Congress can't defund it because it's not a new program, just a repurposed one. DOJ can't sue for overreach because Trump used existing laws exactly as written. Democrats trying to file legal challenges run into standing issues because DOGE operates within existing frameworks.
Obama literally built the perfect Administrative (read: Deep State) IT backdoor.
Trump and Musk just hacked the system and took the admin controls. Musk now has legal oversight of every major agency's internal systems. The Administrative State can't stop it without rewriting multiple federal laws.
They legally outplayed the system and there’s nothing anyone can do about it.
Obama created DOGE.

There will never be peace, and we will never see the world the same.
We should never forget that for 1400 years Islamic barbarism, conquest, and plunder have been the norm, and for that entire 1400 years, the moderate Muslims have not been able to corral the Jihadis.
