25. But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.
26. But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;
27. And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
28. Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
Matthew 20:25-28
The ambitious views of two of the Apostles, Christ perceived in all twelve.
Christ explains, that the governments of the world, has rulers, who know not God, nor submit to Him, and He is a King above all kings, and a Lord, above all lords. Yet they rule over men, with an attitude of superiority.
Christ is very specific here, when He says, it shall not be so among you. The Church must be held in order, but all members are equal. Christ is the Lord, and we serve Him. There is no allowance for any, to lord over another, as worldly government, seeing Christ's kingdom is spiritual, and not of this world, it should in no way appear to resemble, anything of this world.
We are here to do service for Christ, for the souls of men, to bring glory to God.
What ever is done for the Master, if attention is brought to self, the work was in vain, for the flesh, has made it abominable.
If indeed you are a servant of Christ, you will be a servant to all.
And He who gave His life for you, takes notice of your efforts, and His reward, is greater, than anything that can be obtained on this earth. Amen.
