24. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.25. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.26. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 27. For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. Matthew 16:24-27 To follow in Christ's steps, we must deny anything which comes in competition with the Lord. Putting distance between the sins of this world, and cheerfully receive, and bear with patience any affliction, we are appointed. For who ever hides himself, to preserve himself, from troubles, persecution, and death, by forsaking Christ, and denying the Gospel, for the riches, and pleasures, of this world, will exspose himself to the wath of God. And those that forsake everything for the love of Christ, and His sacrifice, living the Gospel message, shall be rewarded, and shall enjoy endless joys, for all eternity. For we are in this world such a short time, and eternity has no end, who can redeem their soul from hell, and who can take away the reward, from those who would give their life, rather than deny Christ, and part with Truth. For everyone shall be rewarded, and every soul lives forever, it is you who chose, where, it is Christ, who saves. Amen.
