Shock rocker Alice Cooper has openly declared that his ultimate identity is rooted in faith, not stadium anthems. Speaking in an interview with Pastor Greg Laurie, the rock legend laid out his priority: ‘First, I’m a child of God. Second of all, I’m in a rock band.’
For years, substance abuse nearly destroyed him. The turning point arrived after days without sleep, facing a collapsing marriage, when Cooper looked in the mirror, saw what appeared to be blood running down his face, and flushed his cocaine stash away. He turned to Christian counseling and faith, stating bluntly: ‘Really, the only cure I had was Jesus.’
Addressing the hollow nature of fame and wealth, Cooper emphasized that human striving fails where faith provides: ‘If you don’t have the Lord in your life, you’re always going to be trying to fill that hole with something.’ #alicecooper #jesus See less
