#News ICE fired back by releasing the criminal records of deported migrants after 60 Minutes ran a deceptive show claiming deportations are part of a cruel system that endangers migrants.
#DC
A so-called 60 Minutes investigation examined a high-risk charter that left Texas on July 30, 2025, on its way to Ghana.
Among those on board was Moussa Diawara, a 57-year-old illegal migrant from Mali who had lived in the Houston area for 25 years.
60-Minutes detailed his hardship after being deported, his detention in Ghana with armed guards, and his flight to Mali, his home country, where he says he fears persecution.
Fast Fact:
This is the same 60 minutes that was sued for deceptively editing Kamala Harris’s answers to make her sound more coherent and to influence the election, and that settled with President Donald Trump for $16 million.
ICE responded by posting what it called the material left “on the cutting room floor” - examples of dangerous and violent criminals removed to third countries:
🔵Abdul Jalloh:
➡️Arrests for r*pe by force, shooting into an occupied building, delinquency of a minor, possession of a prohibited weapon, malicious bodily injury, felony malicious wounding, drug possession, battery, destruction of property, identity theft, disorderly conduct, felony probation violation, failure to appear, seven counts of assault, two counts of larceny, and three separate arrests for trespassing.
➡️He was held by ICE for 702 days starting in 2018 before a judge ordered his release.
➡️He was later charged with m*rder in the February 2026 stabbing death of Stephanie Minter at a bus stop in Fairfax County, Virginia.
➡️DHS has said his record includes more than 30 arrests.
🔵Roberto Mosquera-Del Peral:
➡️Described by ICE as a Latin Kings street gang member.
➡️Has convictions for first-degree m*rder, aggravated battery, aggravated battery on a police officer, grand theft of a vehicle, aggravated flight/eluding law enforcement, and reckless driving.
🔵Pheap Rom:
➡️Prior arrests for assault, reckless endangerment, and possession of an instrument of crime, plus convictions for attempted m*rder, aggravated assault, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
#Ghana
🔵Sithy Yi:
➡️Convictions for larceny and possession of amphetamine.
🔵Rafael Angel Lopez-Ocon:
➡️Three prior arrests for assault, two for assault and battery on a family member, plus arrests for burglary of a home, DUI, and driving without a license.
🔵Yamil Luna-Gutierrez:
➡️Prior arrests for assault and battery on a family member, destruction of property with intent, and unlawful bodily injury.
DHS officials say third-country removal policy exists because immigration judges and prior administrations released illegal migrants with serious and violent criminal records back on the streets - including those later charged with m*rder - when home countries refused them.
DHS top lawyer, James Percival, told 60 Minutes that he was not aware of cases in which Ghana sent people against their will to their home countries.
He said third-country removals have stopped crimes and made Americans safer, that people can consent to return home, and that third countries such as Eswatini and South Sudan accept deportees with records for first-degree m*rder, armed robbery, kidnapping, and s*xual assault when home countries refuse them.
Percival also noted widespread fraud in fear claims.
What do you think? Should U.S. policy prioritize removing people with extensive violent arrest and conviction records even when a third country may later send them to their home countries?
