God bless them both. Photo of a woman who asked for a documentary of the birth of her first child. Halfway through the pregnancy, she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. She underwent a mastectomy and chemotherapy while still carrying her baby. At 36 weeks, doctors induced labor so they could treat her cancer more aggressively and give her the best chance to watch her son grow up. When the newborn latched onto her remaining breast, the emotion in the room was overwhelming. A mother fighting for her life — and for the chance to raise her child.
