Maga hypocrisy
Texas. The state that practically built its identity around oil and gas.
You know what else Texas does? Produces an absolutely ridiculous amount of wind energy.
And here's where it gets interesting.
Texas didn't suddenly turn into some liberal green-energy paradise. Nobody confused the Texas Legislature with a bunch of environmental activists.
They did the math.
The wind was there. The land was there. The opportunity to make money was there.
Farmers and ranchers could collect lease payments while continuing to use much of their land. Developers could generate electricity. Rural communities could collect tax revenue.
And Texas could keep producing oil and gas while becoming America's largest wind electricity producer.
Imagine that. More than one energy source can exist in the same state without the economy collapsing.
That's what drives me nuts about these energy arguments.
We've turned electricity generation into some ridiculous political loyalty test when, at the end of the day, it's about economics, resources, infrastructure, and meeting demand.
Texas didn't have to stop being an oil state to become a wind powerhouse.
It just recognized another resource worth developing.
Maybe the rest of us could spend a little less time arguing about which energy source we're supposed to hate and a little more time figuring out what actually makes economic sense.

Aw more bullshit from the commie cult boy. You have to factor in down time for maintenance, down time for no wind and other weather that effect a turbines ability to safe ply produce energy. You just make a blanket statement like this

The oil companies built because obidiot and bidum were giving away money to install and they still make money on the leases. Go check out the life span of a wind tower, what it costs in just concrete footings and the oil (that's right, oil) it uses for lubrication. It's "carbon footprint" is 10x an o... View More
