The Federalist Papers Polls, if you trust them, have Democrats leading Republicans heading into the midterms. Before anyone shrugs that off, remember why voters threw Democrats out in 2024.The border was near the top of the list. And it wasn't a talking point. It was a number. In fiscal year 2023 alone, Customs and Border Protection recorded nearly 2.5 million encounters at the southern border, the highest annual total ever recorded. September of that year set the all-time record for a single month. That didn't happen by accident. The welcome mats were out.Sanctuary cities refused to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement, then begged Washington for money when the bill came due. New York City was spending about $387 a day per migrant household on shelter and food, and its own mayor warned the total could hit $10 billion.Your tax dollars. Their policy choice. Now look at where the Democratic Party is heading. The Democratic Socialists of America formally endorsed open borders in 2019, calling for the abolition of ICE and Customs and Border Protection with no replacement. This summer, their national co-chair went on Fox News Sunday and reaffirmed the goal of eliminating national borders as part of a "long-term" plan. That's not confined to the fringe anymore. In August, the DNC's Resolutions Committee approved a resolution calling on congressional Democrats to draft legislation abolishing ICE. It was introduced by a DSA member. Here's the irony nobody on the left wants to discuss. If socialism ever took hold here, the border would suddenly matter a great deal. Only the direction would change.East Germany built the Berlin Wall in 1961 to stop its own people from leaving. Socialist systems need walls to keep the taxpayers from walking away. The woman in this cartoon gets it. One party locked the gate. The other propped it open and smiled. This isn't difficult.Vote red!

The Federalist Papers
Here's what makes the contrast impossible to ignore.
The turnaround didn't wait on Congress. Crossings collapsed within weeks of the inauguration, under largely the same laws that were already on the books.... View More
