Not necessarily true. I went to Italy and Greece and ran into Germans that went out of their way to spit at and on American tourists who were Jewish. They gave them the middle finger, tossed empty soda cups at them, hit one man hard on his hand while holding onto the escalator, and yelled foul slang words at them.
