GOD IS LOVE — BUT GOD ALSO HATES SIN! Proverbs 6:16 (KJV) — "These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:" We often hear people declare, **"God loves me unconditionally!" While God's love is undeniable, many have twisted that wonderful truth into a dangerous assumption that God overlooks their sins. God's love is not God's approval!God loves sinners, but His love does not change His holiness, cancel His commandments, or excuse our disobedience. The same God who declares His love for mankind also identifies things He HATES! Pride, lying, murder, wicked imaginations, mischief, false witnessing, and sowing discord are not overlooked simply because someone claims to be loved by God. Romans 5:8 (KJV) — "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."Notice! God demonstrated His love by sending His Son to die for our sins, **NOT by pretending our sins did not matter!** If God's love meant overlooking sin, Calvary would have been unnecessary. The cross proves both the greatness of God's love and the seriousness of man's sin. Hebrews 12:6 (KJV) — "For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth." God's love does not eliminate His correction. In fact, His correction is evidence of His love toward His children. Never mistake God's patience for His permission, His mercy for His approval, or His love for His acceptance of sin! God's love provides salvation through Jesus Christ, but it never gives anyone a license to live in disobedience. **GOD LOVES — BUT GOD DOES NOT OVERLOOK SIN!**
