The Framers of our Constitution had this same vision. But they also knew our country might one day slide into its current predicament, where our federal government no longer restrains itself, our leaders no longer respect the Constitution, and elections alone are not enough to solve the problem. And that’s why they ingeniously gave us Article V of our Constitution. Article V allows the states to sidestep Congress and propose government-limiting, constitutional amendments that do things like:
++ Require a balanced federal budget;
++ Impose term limits on Congress and federal officials;
++ Restrict the power of unelected bureaucrats;
++ …and many more liberty-protecting measures.
This is a process entirely controlled by We the People through our state governments
