Isaiah 64:8 - "But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand."
Reflection:
It’s so easy to be hard on ourselves. We notice every flaw, replay every mistake, and wonder why we still aren’t who we hoped we’d be by now. Sometimes we even assume God must feel the same way.
But that’s not how God sees us. Today’s verse reminds us whose hands we’re in: “We are the clay, You are the potter; we are all the work of Your hand.” Clay on the wheel isn’t a failure. It’s simply still being shaped, by hands that know exactly what they’re making.
And this Potter is our Father. The same hands that shaped the mountains are shaping you, gently and patiently, one day at a time. He isn’t frustrated with you. He isn’t in a hurry. And His hands have never left you.
So today, be as gentle with yourself as He is with you. You’re not a mistake He’s trying to fix. You’re a masterpiece He’s still making.
Ask Yourself:
Where have I been harder on myself than God is with me?
Who in my life needs a reminder that God isn’t finished with them yet?
