FEELINGS WERE NEVER MEANT TO DRIVE YOUR LIFE “Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way.” — Psalm 119:128 KJV We live in a generation that has made feelings an authority. “Follow your heart.” “Trust your feelings.” “Do what feels right.”That is a dangerous way to live. Feelings change. Truth does not. A feeling-driven life moves from anger to fear, sympathy to offense, excitement to despair. When feelings become the driver, disaster follows because there is no fixed standard determining the direction. God is not governed by uncontrolled emotions. **His love never violates His holiness. His mercy never cancels His righteousness. His anger is never an emotional outburst.** Everything God does is consistent with His holy character and revealed truth. Yet Christians often reverse the order. Instead of allowing Scripture to govern their emotions, they allow emotions to reinterpret Scripture: “I don't feel that is wrong.” “I feel God understands.” “I feel a loving God wouldn't judge that.” But when did “I feel” become greater than “Thus saith the Lord”?Our feelings have a place, but they belong under the authority of God's Word. When God says something is right, my feelings cannot make it wrong. When God calls something sin, my sympathy cannot make it righteous. Until churches return to God's laws, doctrines, commandments, and precepts, emotionalism will continue replacing biblical conviction. Get off the emotional roller coaster and plant your feet upon the Word of God. EMOTIONS CHANGE. GOD'S TRUTH DOES NOT.
