DON’T JUDGE GOD’S TRUTH BY MAN’S FAILURE
“...let God be true, but every man a liar...” Romans 3:4
A mechanic fails to repair your car. You don't quit driving—you find another mechanic.
A restaurant gives you terrible service. You don't quit eating out—you find another restaurant.
Yet when a Christian disappoints someone, a preacher fails, or a church handles something wrongly, suddenly the response is:
“That's why I don't go to church anymore.”
Why do we apply a standard to church that we apply almost nowhere else?
Someone may say,
“That preacher was a hypocrite.” Maybe he was.
“That Christian treated me terribly.” Maybe he did.
“That church was wrong.” Maybe it was.
But, what does man's failure change about God's truth? Absolutely nothing.
“...let God be true, but every man a liar...”
Don't judge Christ by Judas.
Don't judge the Bible by someone who disobeys it.
Don't judge every church by one that failed you.
If a church abandons sound doctrine,
find one that preaches the Book.
If leadership is corrupt, don't defend corruption.
If sin is being covered, don't pretend it doesn't matter.
But don't confuse **leaving a bad church with leaving church altogether.**
“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together...” — Hebrews 10:25 KJV
People will fail. Preachers will fail. Churches can fail.
God's Word does not fail.
Never allow an imperfect person to become your excuse for disobeying a perfect God.
Find a church that preaches the Book—and keep going forward with God.
