(Daniel 6:4) (caps mine)Throughout the pages of the Bible, the Lord gives all of us a glimpse of some giants of the faith who stayed the course of dependability, and this man Daniel certainly stood head and shoulders above those other fancy pants that lived during those days.We learn in the Book that bears his name how this servant of God was being criticized day in and day out for his works, his words, his worship, and his wisdom. Yet, he remained faithful and true every moment even though that bunch of unfaithful political phonies kept nipping at his heels with criticism. We see that same gang of political hacks firing their darts of defamation this very hour in Washington D.C. don't we? Oh, how we need more people with a Daniel-like faithfulness and steadfastness. Daniel never budged one inch while those overly zealous and obviously jealous thugs criticized him.There are three ways to avoid criticism, and that's to do nothing, say nothing, and be nothing! But not Daniel. By faith, Daniel dared to do all, say all, and be all for the Glory of God. Far too many Christians today are like Esau of old who would rather compromise and give in and give up their born again birthright of hungering to do right and stay right. And like that same hairy Esau, they finally wind up trading in their convictions for a bowl that's filled with some self-satisfying soup.Friends, as children of God, let's stay on that faithful path in our stand against wrong during these times when crooked and perverse dealings continue in an attempt to thwart our testimony for the Lord Jesus.
