FIVE TRUTHS YOU CANNOT ESCAPEThere are many things in life we can avoid, postpone, or ignore—but there are some truths we will eventually have to face. # Life is short. James 4:14 asks, “For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” We plan as though tomorrow is guaranteed, but God says our life is only a vapour. # Sin has consequences. “For the wages of sin is death...” (Romans 6:23). Sin may promise pleasure, freedom, and satisfaction, but it always sends a bill. Sometimes that bill arrives in this life; ultimately, it reaches into eternity. # Death is inevitable. Hebrews 9:27 declares, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” Rich or poor, young or old, religious or irreligious—the appointment remains. # Hell is real. Jesus did not treat Hell as a metaphor or a joke. He warned of a man who “in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments” (Luke 16:23). If Hell is real, preparing for eternity is more important than anything this world can offer. But thank God, Jesus Christ is the way. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6). You cannot make life longer by ignoring death. You cannot remove sin by pretending it does not matter. You cannot escape judgment by refusing to believe in it. But you can come to Jesus Christ.The first four truths tell us why we need to be saved.The fifth tells us Who saves us.“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” — Acts 16:31
