My mother was a war bride after World War II. She came through Ellis Island, even when she married a soldier. And when it came time for her to make her citizenship, she had to go one on one in front of a judge, read write and speak English. And answer questions about America and the constitution. This should be brought back to ensure that the people becoming citizens in this country actually care enough to learn these things.
