This valley belongs to the saguaro. The cactus is only native to the Sonoran desert of AZ, southeast corner of CA and mexico. Protected by state law. Grows up to forty feet tall, flowers white with yellow centers at night closing the following day. Once pollinated produces red fruit in mid summer. Can live up to 200 years old. Home to many birds that burrow into it for nesting.
