THE SIN YOU FEED WILL EVENTUALLY FEED ON YOU “His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.” — Proverbs 5:22 KJV Sin seldom takes control of a life overnight. We feed it little by little. We feed sin every time we excuse it instead of confessing it. We feed it when we say, “It isn't that bad.” We feed it when we blame somebody else for what we chose to do. We feed it when we hide it, justify it, laugh about it, return to it, or rename it so we don't have to call it SIN. Most dangerously, we feed sin when God deals with our heart and we refuse to repent. At first, that sin may seem small and manageable. You tell yourself, “I can quit whenever I want.” But every time you return to it, you are feeding it. What you continually feed grows stronger, while your resistance grows weaker. James describes the progression: “But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” — James 1:14–15 KJVNotice the progression: lust → sin → death. Sin promises satisfaction while hiding its destination. What begins as something you indulge can become something that controls you. What you once carried around eventually begins carrying you where you never intended to go.That is why repentance matters. Don't pet what God told you to put away. Don't protect what Christ died to deliver you from. Don't keep feeding what is destroying you. The frightening truth is this: THE SIN YOU KEEP FEEDING TODAY MAY BE THE SIN THAT FEEDS ON YOU TOMORROW. “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.” — Proverbs 28:13 Stop excusing it. Stop defending it. Stop feeding it. CONFESS IT. --- FORSAKE IT.--- REPENT.
