Pleasant Productions Apparently, in 2025 New York Attorney General Letitia James relied partly on figures ranging from $18 million to $27.6 million while arguing that Donald Trump materially inflated Mar-a-Lago’s value, and Judge Arthur Engoron accepted the state’s argument at the trial level. Now Forbes, a publication long known for estimating the wealth and assets of billionaires, values Mar-a-Lago at $596 million before debt, or $564 million after debt. The different dates and methods prevent a direct comparison, but the enormous gap still raises a serious question: Was this case driven by sound financial reasoning, or was the target chosen first and the case built afterward? An appeals court later upheld the fraud finding but canceled the financial penalty as excessive.#maralago #donaldtrump #letitiajames #arthurengoron #forbes
